We are so excited to share with you this very special part of the world. There is truly no where else on Earth like the San Juan Islands and the Salish Sea. It’s why we’ve made it our home. That said there are a few things to be aware of. Namely it’s remote and everything books up fast. We have a block of rooms at the Roche Harbor Resort. That’s a good place to start. As for the planes, ferries and autos of it all, the Washington State Ferry Site and Kenmore Air are good resources. More details below and if you are having any trouble finding your way to this Northwest Island Paradise, please reach out to us. We have a few tips, tricks and hacks we’re happy to share with you.
See you upon the Salish Sea
Dario & Jen
Important Note:
The unused rooms in the room block will be released back to the general public on May 6, 2025. After this date, guests can still reserve rooms, but availability will be subject to the resort’s general inventory at that time. The room block itself will remain active and show any lodging still available for the group.

HOTEL DE HARO
The Hotel de Haro is the Grand Dame of Roche Harbor. Built in 1886 on top of the old Hudson Bay Company bunk house, it’s the oldest operating hotel in Washington state (and host to President Theodore Roosevelt over a hundred years ago). The floorplan is laid out in a traditional 19th-century style, with some rooms containing an ensuite bathroom and others using several private common bathrooms off the hall.
The interior décor is a mix of one-foot old-growth beams and floral wallpaper, which adds to the feel of being a guest in the Roche Harbor Lime and Cement Company’s private hotel.
Good for solo travelers and couples who want to experience a historic hotel with character.
-
Quarryman Hall
The Quarryman Hall Suites are our newest collection of deluxe rooms and located in the heart of the resort. Twelve rooms on the second and third floors of the building look out over the gardens, harbor and village happenings.
From a distance, the building looks like it’s part of the original Roche Harbor Lime and Cement Company, but the classically designed rooms are filled with luxurious amenities.
Good for solo travelers and couples who prefer elevated travel experiences.
-
McMillian Suites
The McMillin Suites are perched on a bluff overlooking the harbor steps from the resort center. Four rooms occupy a historic house that once sat in the gardens below before being moved to its majestic locale up high in the 1920s.
These elegant suites are warm, romantic, and boast the best views of any accommodation on the property.
Good for romantic getaways or personal retreats for those who like to travel in style.
-
Harbor View & Lagoon View Condo's
The Condos are nestled on the shoreline just a few minutes walk from the resort center. Built in the 1970s and ‘80s as the resort expanded, 20 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units are now owned by a mix of individuals and a timeshare association, and maintained and managed by the resort.
Condos have distinct decorations and levels of comfort, but they’ve all been updated over the years to provide a quiet, comfortable stay with useful amenities like fully equipped kitchens and patios overlooking the lagoon.
Good for a couple who wants a kitchen, or groups of couples and families interested in simple, comfortable accommodations.

Historic Cottages (pet friendly)
The Company Town Cottages were once humble homes for managers at the Roche Harbor Lime Company. Nine original buildings are flanked by four recently constructed additions to create a cluster of simple, fun accommodations on the lawn overlooking the pool and setting sun.
All cottages are two-bedroom, but feature different bed, living room, dining room, and kitchen configurations. The cottages all have decks overlooking the harbor with full or partial views as well as fire pits and lawn chairs, which makes them the perfect place to hang with family and friends.
Good for small families interested in spaces for their kids to run and play (indoors and outdoors), and stay nearby with others in a group.

Village Homes
The Village Homes meander up the hillside to provide a neighborhood feel to the village. The first home was established in 2006, and now more than 35 are complete – with many more finishing construction. We designed these homes with strict attention to architectural elements and details, which creates a subtle harmony throughout the winding paths and alleyways.
Each home is individually owned and decorated, but meets guidelines insisted on by Roche Harbor management. The resort provides consistent, luxury-level amenities, linens and cleaning services for all accommodations in the rental pool, including the Village Homes.
Good for a couple who appreciates a premium vacation rental, or groups of couples and families interested in spacious, luxurious accommodations.
